Man Disguises As Courier, Scored 10 Job Interviews By Delivering Donuts
By Junru Tan, 06 Oct 2016
Based in San Fransisco, Lukas Yla, a technology major, came up with an ingenious way to get noticed by potential employers.
Posing as a Postmates courier, he hid his resume inside a dox of delicious donuts before hand delivering them to the organizations that he would like to work for.
Along with his résumé, he left a short and clever message, which provides relevant information about himself. Here are some of the messages that were found in the donut boxes.
“Most resumes end up in trash. Mine - in your belly.”
“This delivery is not a mistake. I pretended to be a Postmates delivery guy to ensure my resume was delivered to you personally. If I spike your curiosity and you’re wondering how to reach me, please enter bit.ly/check-resume in your browser window. For the time being, please enjoy these magnificent & famous donuts from Mr. Holmes Bakehouse.”
So far, the out-of-the-box idea has managed to land Yla 10 job interviews.
Will you attempt a bold stunt like this to get a job interview?
