Everyone’s A Winner In Spanish Lottery’s Stirring Christmas Ad Where Nobody Wins
By Chloe Pek, 16 Nov 2016
You may remember the Lotería de Navidad’s (Spanish Lottery) Pixar-esque ad ‘Justino’ last year, which warmed many hearts with its story of a night watchman and his mannequin antics.
This year, the Spanish Lottery continues its theme of community and sharing, albeit in a real-life scenario.
Created by Leo Burnett Madrid, the creator of ‘Justino’, the spot takes place in a small town, where retired schoolteacher Carmina mistakenly believes that the community had won the lottery, one day ahead of the draw.
Unwilling to burst the kindly old lady’s bubble, the entire village teams up in a joyous parade as more townspeople join in, going to great lengths as to call in journalists, police guards, and even ring the church bells.
While it is unlikely that the community will actually win the draw, everyone’s a winner in the story, sharing the gift of unity as they banded together to celebrate someone they loved—Carmina.
Watch the heartwarming ad ‘21 December’ below.
