This Peculiar Board Game Is Anticipated To Be Biggest Kickstarter Campaign Ever
By Chloe Pek, 01 Dec 2016

When we talk about the biggest Kickstarter campaign, most of us may remember the Pebble Time smartwatch, which raised over US$20 million last year.
However, one Kickstarter campaign is on its way to taking over its title, having raised more than $5 million over the weekend of its launch.
‘Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5’ is a tabletop miniatures game similar to ‘Dungeons and Dragons’, that offers “cooperative nightmare horror game experience”.
However what makes the campaign’s popularity so peculiar is that it is a revised edition of a game that not many have heard about, much less played—the original campaign in 2013 had only over 5,000 backers.
Pledges start at $50 for an upgrade to the original game, but new backers should pledge $250 and more to receive the core game, which will include a rulebook, miniatures, and game cards.
With more than a month to go, it is anticipated to beat ‘Exploding Kitterns’ as the biggest tabletop Kickstarter campaign of all time, and possibly even the Pebble Time smartwatch, according to Kicktraq's projection.
