New ‘Amazon Go’ Store Has No Lines And Registers, Customers Simply ‘Walk Out’
By Yoon Sann Wong, 06 Dec 2016
Amazon has announced its new ‘Amazon Go’ store opening in early 2017 that will offer customers a “Just Walking Out” shopping experience.
All you need is the ‘Amazon Go’ app, an Amazon account and a supported smartphone. Its “Just Walk Out” technology eliminates the need for cash registers, which means no queues for payments.
The technology automatically detects the products that you take or return to the shelves. It tracks your “purchased” items in a virtual cart and charges your Amazon account once you are done shopping.
Its first store spanning about 1,800 square feet will open at 2131 7th Ave, Seattle, WA, on the corner of 7th Avenue and Blanchard Street.
