Illustrator Refreshes Studio Ghibli Scenes, Compares His Work With The Originals

Studio Ghibli’s animated films are beloved modern classics with fans all over the world—Brazilian freelance illustrator Rodrigo ICO is one of them.
In a series titled ‘Paint Over’, the talented illustrator has given iconic Ghibli scenes a fresh coat of paint, lending to them his dreamy yet realistic artistic style.
He would then compare these refreshed artworks with the original screencaps that they are based on—it is fascinating to see how different well-known characters, such as Totoro, look with the changes.
