Dove Debuts Packaging In All Shapes And Sizes To Champion All Types Of Beauty
By Yoon Sann Wong, 05 May 2017

For the past 60 years, Dove has espoused a broader definition of beauty. From its ‘#MyBeautyMySay’ campaign, which included its ‘Beauty on your own terms’ spot, to its social experiment that challenged women to ‘Choose Beautiful’, Dove’s message of inner beauty has consistently shone through its marketing endeavors.
Now, the brand takes it one step further. For the first time ever, Dove brings its message that hails all types of beauty directly to its product packaging. In line with its ‘#RealBeauty’ campaign, Dove partnered with Ogilvy UK to create a series of unique, limited edition bottles that come in an assortment of shapes and sizes.
‘Real Beauty Bottles’–all containing Dove Body Wash–comprise six different designs. The collection is available in 15 countries across five continents.
“The ‘Real Beauty Bottles’ is one of those rare ideas which condenses decades of a brand’s legacy in two seconds. It’s deceivingly simple and quite nuanced: a message about our body conveyed by Dove bottles themselves, it cares for the physical and the emotional, and it brings brand essence and product design seamlessly together,” explains Andre Laurentino, Global Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy for Unilever.
