It seems Kendall Jenner can’t seem to catch a break. Following the Pepsi ad hullabaloo, in which the model-cum-reality television star was featured, the celebrity has now come under scrutiny for her latest gig with Vogue India.
To kick off Vogue India’s 10th anniversary, the magazine featured Kendall Jenner on the cover of its May issue and is getting backlash for not casting a model from the region.
Jenner was shot by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino alongside Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput at Samode Palace in Jaipur, India. Though the results are pretty spectacular, it does not change the fact that many readers were unhappy about the casting choice.
Some readers took to Twitter to voice our their disdain and the fact that many other famous and beautiful Indian starlets could have been featured instead of Jenner. This includes Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. Others outrightly shamed the magazine for featuring someone of a wholly different background to celebrate India’s heritage.

I am utterly disappointed in this Vogue India anniversary cover. There are so many deserving Indian models that should've got it. pic.twitter.com/GvVp0jxazq— M.🥀 (@MEENAVOGUEE) May 3, 2017
