On Saturday, 32-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in the Champions League final to help Real Madrid score the trophy. To celebrate, Nike—a sponsor of the Portugeuse player—created an ad featuring a young Ronaldo with the line, “This boy knew”, implying the world-renowned athlete forsaw his achievements in the game.
Ronaldo shared the visual on his Twitter account, along with the hashtag ‘#JustDoIt’. Amusingly, Australian YouTuber Jay Bucks replied to Ronaldo’s tweet revealing that the player was actually wearing an Adidas jumper in the original photo, pictured below.
The boy knew, did Nike know?
This isn’t the first time Ronaldo has come under the spotlight for a humorous meme this year. In March, his uncanny new bust, created to celebrate the opening of the Cristiano Ronaldo Madeira Airport, inspired witty, rib-tickling memes.
