Skype Ditches Iconic Bubbles, Unveils New Logo In Microsoft's Corporate Font

The Skype logo has gotten a facelift. Previously chunkier and framed in bright blue bubbles, the logo now features a sleek, clean look that is more consistent with Microsoft’s other products, such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
While the logo may be barer and more grown up, Skype’s newest features are decidedly more playful.
Taking a cue from Snapchat, Skype users can now incorporate emojis and filters into video calls, in addition to the existing GIFs and emojis available over chat.
This makes Skype more similar to services such as Snapchat and Instagram Stories, so as to appeal to younger consumers who seek immediacy when it comes to social media and video consumption.
