Lenovo Reveals A New Hingeless, Bendable Concept ThinkPad
By Kylie Woon, 21 Jun 2017
At yesterday's Lenovo Transform NYC event, the brand's senior vice president Christian Teismann hinted at a product release later this year, as well as a special edition product for Lenovo's 25th anniversary this October.
He then offered a glimpse of a new concept ThinkPad—and we think that it is pretty out there.
Teismann shared a single image of a ThinkPad laptop that is completely hingeless. Instead, it has a bendable screen, able to be rolled up like a newspaper and perhaps tucked under the arm.
It can be spoken to and written on, as you would a pad of paper, suggesting this concept product will be quite organic and personal in how users interacted with it.
It is still just a concept, and would undoubtedly require advanced materials and more research before it can become a real product. It does, however, suggest where Lenovo plans to take it’s product range. “It’s all part of the story we call personalised computing,” Teismann said.
