A few years ago, agency Zulu Alpha Kilo made headlines when its amusing ‘#saynottospec’ campaign went viral.
The project brought forth the very relatable and utterly ridiculous experience of being asked to work for free. It garnered the support of many creatives, including that of two-man independent agency Micro Maniac.
The duo, comprising art director Michael Romaniuk and copywriter Patrick Godin, has 3D printed a pair of flamboyant, satirical glasses, in support of Zulu Alpha Kilo’s campaign. The video features a man approaching several people to let him test products and services free-of-charge before he decides to pay them.
“We designed and 3D printed personalized glasses for Zulu Alpha Kilo’s phoney founders: ‘Frank Zulu’, ‘Marcus Alpha’, and ‘Katherine Kilo’. By simply putting ‘The No! Specs™’ on, they could waste less time saying ‘no’ to spec and spend more time enjoying life in the fast lane.”
The glasses are then brought to the founders via an elaborately redesigned ‘FedUp® With Spec’ courier service, which involves Romaniuk and Godin dressed in spoof delivery uniforms.
Check out the campaign below. Do you wish you had these energy-saving glasses?
