Gorgeous ‘Algorithmically Modeled’ Cake Features Naturally Pink Ruby Chocolate
By Dorothy Tan, 17 Oct 2017
Chocolate lovers all over the world rejoiced when it was announced last month that a new kind of chocolate has been invented—the lovely, naturally pink Ruby chocolate is the first new type of chocolate to be unveiled since the 1930s.
To showcase the Ruby chocolate, Ukrainian pastry chef Dinara Kasko—whom we wrote about here—decided to create a very special cake that looks more like sculptural art than dessert.
Using a graphical algorithm editor called Grasshopper, she made this masterpiece consisting of 81 individual cakes that are all unique in shape—inside the cakes, you would find mousse with Ruby chocolate and ganache, meringue and berry confit.
Watch the video below to see how this wonderful cake—made possible by creativity, technology and chocolate—is made.
