Stage effects have come a long way, and it’s evident that life in “glamorous” Hollywood isn’t all it appears to be—but what about life in the eerie ‘Upside Down’?
The ‘Demogorgon’, the fearsome monster from the first season of Stranger Things, had fans on the edge of their seats and hyped up for the show’s sequel.
In this video, Mashable News takes you behind the scenes to show you what went into the design process of the creature people love to hate.
For a character so realistically petrifying, you’ll be able to guess that a lot of effort went into bringing it to life. The ‘Demogorgon’ wasn’t just the work of digital effects; visual effects studio Aaron Sims Creative also created prototypes using 3D printers and manually painted the models to immaculate, creepy detail.
If you haven’t seen the Netflix original series, this clip—which reminds you that the monster isn’t real—might take the magic away when you finally do. Then again, it will probably make you love the show even more.
