Holy moly. It looks like AI might be taking over the world sooner than you think. Just recently, a humanoid became the first bot to be granted citizenship. An R-rated ‘Siri’-like doll has also hit the shelves, and its creator believes that it could soon start making babies with its human partners.
AI’s integration into society is so surreal, there may as well be a religion for it—and there is. Ex-Google and Uber executive Anthony Levandowski has opened a church called Way of the Future (WOTF), where worshippers put their faith in the machine overlords.
According to the church’s website, the religion of sorts is “about creating a peaceful and respectful transition of who is in charge of the planet from people to people [and] ‘machines.’”
Way of the Future wishes to spread the word that AI might one day “surpass” human intelligence, so why not just put your trust in them and have their omnipresent power take you down a path leading to the greater good?
“In ‘recent’ years, we have expanded our concept of rights to both sexes, minority groups and even animals, let’s make sure we find a way for ‘machines’ to get rights too.”
Pro-human advocates still have hope: people like Elon Musk are eagerly guarding the world from being overturned by AI.
