Back in October, 83 Marvel characters assembled for a top-secret assignment—a photo shoot by Vanity Fair to celebrate 10 years of the studio’s roaring achievements.
A total of four magazine covers were created. The pages within show the “largest-ever” gathering of Marvel icons yet, and consist of superheroes plus friends from the past decade who fought their way to box-office success. Even “Mark Ruffalo, who plays the ‘Hulk’, bonded with Vin Diesel, the voice of ‘Groot’, the monosyllabic sapling from Guardians of the Galaxy,” the magazine quips.
The stars were joined by famed comic book writer Stan Lee, of course.
The photo shoots, which offer a glimpse of Marvel’s massive universe, are a teaser for 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, where the heroic team will work with the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ to defeat supervillain ‘Thanos’.
They’re also likely a parting gift for a number of characters of whom Vanity Fair says will be “hanging up their capes and shields” after Avengers 4 in 2019.
