Japan appears to have everything coveted by the rest of the world—even McDonald’s restaurants stocked with macarons.
The chain has recently released an assortment of the delightful sweets in 90 McCafé by Barista outlets. They’re shipped directly from France, home of the macaron.
The limited-edition confectioneries come in four flavors: vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, and citron—which features a tart lemon cream.
The macarons are sold at JP¥150 (US$1.30) each, as well as in an adorable takeout box of three pieces at JP¥450 (US$4).
Meanwhile, other parts of the world will be left wishing their Big Macs were crisp pastry shells filled with dessert cream instead.
