Coca-Cola Unveils Its Very Own Custom Typeface Called ‘TCCC Unity’
By Yoon Sann Wong, 09 Jan 2018
Coca-Cola has announced its new bespoke typeface dubbed ‘TCCC Unity’, made by creative agency Brody Associates.
‘TCCC Unity’—where “TCCC” stands as an acronym for The Coca-Cola Company and “unity” plays along the brand’s consistent message of bringing people together—was described by Coca-Cola’s vice president of global design, James Sommerville, as “encapsulate[ing] Coca-Cola’s past and its American modernist heritage.”
Sommerville posted a video on Instagram that reveals more about the typeface, which also has it own iOS application.
The text reads, “Geometric flair and circularity drawn from the archive form the basis of the Latin script; a large x-height ensures it works in physical and digital environments. Regular weights are used for text and headlines, with condensed weights applied to information text.”
