Meet The Welsh ‘Willy Wonka’ Who Amazes & Delights With Absurd Chocolate Flavors
By Yoon Sann Wong, 17 Jan 2018
Some of you who have read Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory might wish that ‘Willy Wonka’ and his outrageous chocolate workshop were real.
For the Welsh, Liam Burgess’s NOMNOM Chocolate comes close. Adorably located at “The Abandoned Chocolate Factory” in the UK, NOMNOM Chocolate prides itself on producing candy that’s completely fun and unheard of.
In this video, Munchies meets with Burgess who showcases some of NOMNOM’s wacky flavors, including ‘Old Book’ that bibliophiles might be keen to try.
“I’m not sure I want to put this in my mouth,” jokes the interviewer in the amusing clip below. Burgess reveals that ‘Old Book’ is made up of “leather essence, cigar tobacco, frankincense, patchouli, smoked sea salts” and maintains, “it smells [just] like an old book.”
