Apple experienced one of its most unforgettable years for the iPhone in 2017. It was the smartphone’s 10th year anniversary and the company had marked it by releasing the radically designed iPhone X, completely skipping ‘iPhone 9’.
Understandably, iPhone’s 2018 outlook might not be as eventful—but just like every other year, it’ll still be exciting, no less.
Several memos, mostly written by KGI Securities’ reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, have already predicted the tech giant’s upcoming phone lineup, which he believes will roll out in the autumn of 2018.
Most notably, three iPhone X-like models are slated for arrival in this year’s release: an upgraded 5.8-inch phone, a 6.5-inch ‘iPhone X Plus’, and an economical 6.1-inch LCD version.
An ‘iPhone Mini’ might also be added to the mix, and is said to resemble iPhone SE’s design.
Those who aren’t ready to switch to a Face ID-enabled phone can most likely still purchase the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, considering Apple’s pattern of retaining “default” phones from the previous year.
The fate of the first-gen iPhone X, however, is more unclear. According to a recent report by Kuo, Apple could discontinue it due to unpopularity.
To help you have a clearer idea of what this year’s iPhones might look like, Spectrum Report has illustrated some prototypes depicting the entire rumored lineup and its projected prices, which follow Apple’s pricing methods thus far. See it below.
