Apple Rumored To Release Two New iPad Models According To Latest Database Filing
By Izza Sofia, 22 Feb 2018
Apple is rumored to be releasing new iPad Pro models later this year with the ‘Face ID’ feature, but a recent filing from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) hints that two non-Pro models could possibly be introduced within the next few months.
Companies are legally required to register gadgets that use encryption before their release. For example, the iPhone 7 and AirPods appeared in the Eurasian database just two weeks before they were announced. Another example is the MacBook that showed up inside the EEC database in May, before it debuted at WWDC in June.
First reported by Consomac, this latest entry shows two devices with the model identifiers A1954 and A1893. They have been described as Apple tablets, operating on iOS 11. As such, they could be revealed sooner, rather than later.
Seeing as how Apple introduced its US$329 iPad in March 2017, an annual refresh with the new devices line up, and could potentially debut in March 2018.
Apple has yet to say anything about the new iPads and their release, so stay tuned for further updates.
