Trolli Remakes adidas x James Harden’s Footwear As Edible, Life-Sized Gummies
By Yoon Sann Wong, 23 Mar 2018
James Harden, professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets, has been endorsing candy brand Trolli since 2016. In this latest three-way move, the athlete reunites with Trolli and adidas to create a life-sized, completely edible version of his adidas’ ‘Harden Vol. 2’ footwear.
The candy shoes are part of Trolli’s campaign to promote its new ‘Sour Brite Sneaks’ range. This ‘Trolli x Harden Vol. 2: SourStock Edition’ comprises “three ultra-rare pairs of life-sized gummi kicks” in flavors ‘Strawberry/Blackberry’, ‘Lemon/Berry Punch’ and ‘Lime/Raspberry’. The “shoes” dropped on Thursday via StockX, where they can be won by raffle, with proceeds going to Harden’s charity foundation 3TheHardenWay.
StockX announced, “For every $5 donation, eligible donors will receive one entry to win one of three prize packs. Each prize pack consists of one Trolli x Harden Vol. 2: SourStock Edition life-size gummi sneaks, an autographed pair of adidas Harden Vol. 2s and a mega supply of Trolli, featuring the new Sour Brite Sneaks. All proceeds benefit 3TheHardenWay.”
Trolli’s creative agency Periscope teamed up with Chicago Culinary FX to create the candy shoe designs.
According to Periscope’s Creative Director Dustin Joyce, each piece weighs roughly six or seven pounds and equates to approximately 90 servings of candy, so best not to eat it in one sitting—if even possible.
You can find out more information about the raffle on StockX.
