Typefaces Used In Some Of The World’s Most Recognized Logo Designs

It’s inherent for designers to look at a logo and take in more than what’s shown at face value. They’re likely to wonder if its creator used a grid, the inspiration behind its silhouette, or the typeface used in its design.
Italian graphic designer Emanuele Abrate has certainly thought along those lines. In a personal project titled ‘Logofonts’, he decided to dig deeper and uncover the typefaces behind some of the most popular logomarks.
The results are pretty surprising. For example, while the Airbnb logo has recently been likened to adidas’ lettermark, it turns out that both designs feature different sans-serifs.
