Last month, SEGA announced its collaborative Sonic the Hedgehog-inspired sneaker with PUMA. Just like the classic game, however, it only teased the footwear in 8-bit visuals.
The ‘SEGA x PUMA RS-0’ finally made its appearance at PUMA’s ‘Running System’ global launch, and sneakerhead Hikmet Sugoer—owner of footwear retailer SONRA—has released an initial photo of the silhouette on his Instagram.
By the looks of it, the ‘RS-0’ will surely reignite your need for speed. Its frayed, electric blue suede upper is a tribute to the character’s blue fur, while its white midsole and red outsole outline his iconic shoes.
Green and yellow checkered accents pay homage to the roads in the video games, and the chevron markings on the footwear’s rear depict speed boosters.
