In one fell swoop, Avengers: Infinity War sold more tickets than the last seven Marvel films combined. Not wanting to be left out of the limelight, ‘Deadpool’ has shared why he was not included in the blockbuster.
The character’s alter ego, Ryan Reynolds, reflected in a tweet, “From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did.”
In addition to congratulating the squad on its popularity, Reynolds posted a snapshot of a rejection letter by ‘Tony Stark’ on a possible recruitment in the ‘Avengers’.
Presumably written in April 2012, the note matter-of-factly reads, “No. Absolutely not. Go bother ‘Prof X’. No.”
This was sent out years before ‘Wade Wilson’ openly mocked Marvel Studios in a movie trailer. It’s worth noting that in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), grudges run deep—especially when potential allies exclude you from their team.
