Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is just two weeks away, which means you might be able to anticipate a few products to come your way in the very near future. The conference primarily focuses on the operating systems that power your iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers, but the brand is known to introduce new gadgets to the event to mix things up.
Don’t expect to see any new high-end iPhones by next month though—Apple often rolls out its flagship smartphones in September.
Have a look at some new Apple devices more likely to be unveiled at WWDC 2018, which falls between 4 June and 8 June.
MacBooks and iMacs
In 2017, Apple introduced nearly an entire lineup of Mac computers, so it wouldn’t be out of the question to see a refreshed—though less exciting—array with new chips from Intel in June. Reliable tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicted that a cheaper MacBook Air is slated to arrive in the second quarter of 2018.
Apple brought in a cheaper entry-level iPad in March that’s compatible with the Apple Pencil, though it isn’t as powerful as the 2017 iPad Pro. Should it introduce a new iPad Pro in June, you can expect for the device to take on iPhone X’s features, such as Face ID.
iPhone ‘SE 2’
You might have to wait a few more months before you get official glimpses of the descendants of iPhone 8 and iPhone X, but if there were to be a smartphone to look forward to in the coming weeks, it would be Apple’s rumored remake of the iPhone SE, which debuted in March 2016.
Japanese Apple news site Macotakara anticipates that the model will feature a four-inch, iPhone 5-like design, and powered by A10 chips, a step above the iPhone 6s’ A9 chips. It’ll also run on iOS 12, a drawing point for anybody who is apprehensive about shelling out too much for a new iPhone.
When Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller, unveiled AirPower in September 2017, he mentioned that the wireless charging mat would be ready “next year.” As CNET points out, it’s unlikely of Apple to belatedly roll out the product a year after teasing it, and the brand would want to launch it before the anniversary of the accessory’s announcement comes around.
WWDC 2018 kicks off on 4 June. Which of these devices are you most hyped up for?
