Twitter Applauds ASOS’ Ad Featuring Model Going Au Naturel, With Back Rolls
By Izza Sofia, 06 Jun 2018
ASOS continues to champion body diversity with one of its latest marketing materials that stars a plus-size model in a red, backless dress, and an au naturel display of back rolls.
Plus-size influencer Callie Thorpe took to Twitter to share the image in a tweet with the comment, “Look at this gorgeous model and her cute back rolls just out here to show women that their bodies are normal and that real life isn’t photoshopped and filtered.”
At time of writing, her tweet has garnered more than 2,500 likes, with many supporting the unedited photo.
Natalia Lorenzo, who is the model inside the photo, caught wind of the attention that the picture had garnered online. Lorenzo has been featured in various magazines alongside fellow models Kendall Jenner and Ashley Graham.
This is not the first time ASOS has advocated for positive body image in its ads. It previously featured plus-size model Vivian Eyo-Ephraim in its body inclusivity campaign.
Every time I see a roll on a model it’s like YAS QUEEN YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT YOUR BODY IS A TEMPLE AND I WORSHIP YOU which is a fairly normal response I feel— Rowan (@RowanKitchen) May 31, 2018

You are gorgeous 😍👏🏻— Callie (@CallieThorpe) May 31, 2018
I love seeing chubby models. I want to see more bodytypes to show how the clothes look on non traditional hourglass shapes. I wanna see back rolls and bat wings. I wanna see apple shapes. I love it!— NoirExperiences (@noirexperiences) June 1, 2018
This is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for doing and also showing this. In my opinion, the ‘beauty ideal’ is not real. It would be so dull and boring if we all conformed and society and therefore looked/dressed the same as each other. X— Stephen Bell (@StephenBell4) May 31, 2018
