Nigeria’s Record-Breaking World Cup Jersey Now Reselling At Triple The Price
By Yoon Sann Wong, 07 Jun 2018
Nigeria’s retro-inspired World Cup jersey, which clinched the top, most popular position in Sky Sports’ World Cup kit rankings, sold out within minutes of release on Friday, reports The Independent.
The kit apparently broke records with pre-orders totaling three million, according to Nigeria’s football federation (NFF), though this number was never publicly confirmed by Nike.
Its away kit and training kits are also sold out, and unavailable via Nike’s website. With the 2018 World Cup just around the corner, some fans might still be scrambling for a chance to get their hands on the popular design. Thankfully, interested parties can still do so, albeit at a much higher price.
HYPEBEAST has highlighted that the jersey, which originally retailed for US$90, is currently reselling via sites such as Grailed and on eBay at up to three times the price.
Seeing as how Nike has officially announced that there are no plans for any restocks, some avid supporters might just be willing to fork out the cash.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are over the moon because surely, they’ve already won the World Cup with its incredible jersey designs.

When Nike made our shirts, I was disappointed with what they came up with pretty much every year (there was the odd exception). Where were they hiding the person who designed all of this?? pic.twitter.com/PaIl9unHcx— Scott Patterson (@R_o_M) June 1, 2018
