Russia’s Vladimir Putin Staying Dry During The World Cup Becomes Instant Meme

After an intense battle between France and Croatia, Les Bleus has emerged victorious in the 2018 World Cup after defeating Croatia with the closing 4-2 score.
While the final match came with an overwhelming goal count, the presentation ceremony, too, had a dramatic flair to it. Despite the rain, Russian President Vladimir Putin was prepared for the bad weather while presenting the trophy to the French team.
Putin took shelter under an umbrella while shaking hands with the French players. In the meantime, French President Emmanuel Macron and Croatia’s Prime Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović remained drenched on the field.
Netizens were quick to notice the stark contrast between a nice, dry Putin and the soaked individuals including his associates and players of France’s national football team.
