Whereas ‘Spider-Man’ is a superhero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his Earth-bound alter-ego Tom Holland saves the day with his generous gifting of major plotlines for upcoming movies.
Now that Ant-Man and the Wasp has arrived in theaters, fans have discovered that the actor might have disclosed another secret from a previous interview that would tie the Ant-Man story with Infinity War and the yet-to-be-named Avengers 4.
YouTube channel Emergency Awesome has reuploaded a clip from Access’ interview with Tom Holland and Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays ‘Doctor Strange’ in the MCU. The duo were promoting Infinity War, which premiered in April.
When discussing the difficulty of delivering lines, Holland divulged, “He [Cumberbatch] has the most difficult lines, though. He has to talk about so much ‘Quantum Realm’ stuff. I just have to talk about, ‘Yeah, man, that’s awesome!’ So mine is easy, but his is so difficult!”
What’s interesting is that the ‘Quantum Realm’ was very rarely brought up in Infinity War.
The resurfacing of the video might confirm one long-standing fan theory: that the ‘Quantum Realm’ will play a major role in Avengers 4.
The ‘Quantum Realm’ is an alternate dimension where time and space is irrelevant, and appears prominently in the Ant-Man films. Quite notably, Holland’s remarks insinuate that ‘Doctor Strange’ would be the one to explain this multi-verse, and not ‘Ant-Man’.
Further, since ‘Strange’ saw that only one out of 14 million possibilities would pan out successfully in Infinity War, the ‘Quantum Realm’ might be the key to restoring all the damage caused by ‘Thanos’.
You can check out Emergency Awesome’s video to narrow in on this theory, but fair warning: it has spoilers to Ant-Man and the Wasp, so you might want to play it only after you’ve caught the film.
