Japan is currently on a transparent drink high, so The Coca-Cola Company decided to follow suit with its own ‘Clear’ cola. Now, it has taken a monkey see, monkey do, approach with a new beverage that is simply bananas.
The brand’s latest ‘Banana Milk’ drink might look like water, but as its label suggests, tastes more like a creamy banana beverage.
Essentially, these clear beverages are flavored waters that are infused with the extracts of the foods or drinks they’re inspired by. This version, however, promises to taste “solidly’ like the fruit.
The all-new ‘Banana Milk’ will retail at convenience stores across Japan, such as Family Mart, beginning 31 July at JP¥130 (US$1.17) a bottle. It all seems like monkey business, but don’t knock it until you try it.
In related news, a two-Michelin star restaurant serves up a mind-bending, multi-textural dessert that looks like a banana inside and out.
