Confusing ‘Bikini Dress’ Lets You Go Dining, Clubbing, And Swimming All At Once
By Yoon Sann Wong, 05 Aug 2018
UK-based fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing recently shared one of its more unconventional designs that has left Instagram confused yet amused.
The casually nicknamed ‘Bikini Dress’, otherwise officially marketed as the ‘Green Metallic Asymmetric Ring Detail Bodycon Dress’, has been garnering much attention for its odd multi-functionality.
On the product’s page, the brand writes, “Make em’ say ‘Dammmm girl’ when they see you in this killer bodycon dress. Featuring a green metallic fabric with an asymmetric design, ring detailing and a bralet style design, team with high heels and statement accessories.”
No doubt the design has Instagram going “Dammmm,” though partially for other reasons. While some did agree that the apparel was “smoking,” user ‘loujainmak’ commented on PrettyLittleThing’s Instagram post, “When [you’re] going to the family dinner at 10 and the club at 11.”
“Why wear 1 outfit when you can wear 2 at the same time…” added Instagrammer ‘nikkss’, while user ‘rapgoddesskrizztyle’ suggested donning it for “when you can’t make up your mind.”
Its multipurpose benefits didn’t go unnoticed by Instagrammer ‘mzchicana619’ who remarked, “She’s going to dinner, clubbing and swimming all at once.”
Of course, no one could help ‘jefe_frankiebaby_rothstein’ who expressed their bewilderment via the comment, “What in the unflattering mess is going on here.”
For those interested, the ‘Green Metallic Asymmetric Ring Detail Bodycon Dress’ is now selling at £22 (US$29) on PrettyLittleThing.
This isn’t the first time the brand has rolled out eyebrow-raising fashion apparels. It’d previously introduced transparent plastic trousers that not only oozes sexiness, but also doubles as a rain protector, and ‘bum rip’ shorts that will put your behind, and reputation, in a super tight spot.
