The ‘Most Beautiful Electric Car In The World’ By Jaguar Enters Production
By Yoon Sann Wong, 28 Aug 2018
After unveiling its concept last year, Jaguar has announced the start of production for its stunning ‘E-Type Zero’—dubbed “the most beautiful electric car in the world” by Italian racing driver Enzo Ferrari.
The body and style of the ‘E-Type Zero’ was inspired by the original ‘1968 Series 1.5 Jaguar E-type Roadster’, shown directly below.
To this vintage beauty, Jaguar has given a modern redesign that marries green technology with a gorgeous classic aesthetic.
A look at the images inside its Instagram album below reveals its prominent touchscreen display that sits in the middle of the car’s dashboard, situated to the right of another screen in its instrument cluster at the wheel. Hidden beneath its hood is the model’s electric powertrain that will take the ‘E-Type Zero’ from 0 to 62mph in 5.5 seconds.
Jaguar is also offering to restore and convert existing ‘E-types’ to electric power, “An EV conversion service for existing E-type owners will also be offered. To preserve the authenticity of the base vehicle, the EV conversion will be fully reversible.”
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the Jaguar ‘E-Type Zero’ concept. Future-proofing the enjoyment of classic car ownership is a major stepping stone for Jaguar Classic,” said Tim Hannig, Jaguar Land Rover Classic Director, in a press statement.
While the tech specs and pricing of the ‘E-Type Zero’ has yet to be announced, Jaguar is already accepting expressions of interest from keen parties. Deliveries for the initial ‘E-Type Zero’ vehicles are slated to launch in summer 2020, the same year as Porsche’s stunning first-ever, all-electric automotive.
Meanwhile, Russia is ready to take Tesla with an ultra retro-looking electric “supercar” manufactured by its largest gun maker and creator of the world-famous ‘AK-47’ assault rifle.
