Fast forward 10 years, and Google Chrome has risen to become the most popular web browser, far surpassing Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft’s default ‘Internet Explorer’ and Apple’s ‘Safari’.
In celebrating the milestone, the browser teased a surprise that is slated to arrive on 4 September 2018.
As to what this revelation could be, the company previously announced a major redesign that would comprise a cleaner, whiter, and rounder interface, as well as improved features like enhanced password protections.
Additionally, Google revamped its offline ‘Dino Game’ Easter Egg to have the ‘dinosaur’ wear a party hat and collect a birthday cake. The game can be activated on offline mode at ‘google.com’ by hitting the ‘Space’ bar, and will be available through the month of September.
Check out some birthday dedications, and stay tuned for the highly-anticipated Chrome rollout.
I'm so excited to share the @googlechrome 10th birthday update... COMING THIS WEEK! My team has been hard at work on polish, performance improvements, auto-magic to help users get things done (safely!) with less clicks or bumps, & more...— Parisa Tabriz (@laparisa) September 1, 2018

One thing people don't realize or celebrate is that we didn't crunch - most people went home by 6PM. I would sometimes work on a Saturday, only out of boredom, passion, and desire to perfect, tweak, and add. We had time because no-one suspected us and we were ruthlessly focused.— Glen Murphy (@gmurphy) September 1, 2018
