Italians Respond To Starbucks’ First And ‘Most Beautiful’ Store Opening In Italy
By Yoon Sann Wong, 07 Sep 2018

Starbucks recently opened its “most beautiful store in the world” within the birthplace of the authentic espresso: Italy.
Its grand 2,300-square-meter Reserve Roastery that’s situated in the historic Poste building in Piazza Cordusio, Milan, was met with strong opposition when first announced last year.
A poll conducted by The Local Italy earlier this year saw an 87-percent vote for “Mamma mia! No thanks.”
In this recent interview by Bloomberg, it seems locals remain opposed to Starbucks’ foray into its coffee paradise and would very much prefer to stick to their local baristas and coffeehouses, which are definitely not in short supply within the country.
In its short clip below, one Italian responds, “I’ve tasted Starbucks coffee and I’ll absolutely stick to Italian coffee,” while another remarks, “Is Starbucks even coffee?”
On The Local Italy’s Facebook page, user Philip Blake commented, “You people are missing the point. SB is successful not because the coffee.... it’s because the efficiency, customer service, comfortable interior, air conditioning, good WiFi, and clean restrooms. Italy shouldn’t be so insecure, the Italian espresso is still king... but they can learn from the aforementioned items.”
Hear what some Italians have to say in the video below and take a look inside Starbucks’ new Reserve Roastery in Milan.

Why on earth would anyone want over-roasted crap coffee when even the worst cafe in Italy has better coffee than Starburnt.
