Apple Watch 4’s Outstanding Features Might Just Make It ‘A Better iPhone’
By Izza Sofia, 14 Sep 2018
Apple released its brand new iPhones and latest Watch Series 4 on 12 September during its Gather Round event.
Aside from the iPhone XR, the Xs and Xs Max debuted with exorbitant price tags that have already been poked fun at by brands. It doesn’t help that the sizes of the iPhones don’t seem to be getting any smaller.
If you share the same sentiments as Fast Company’s Jesus Diaz and feel that the new iPhones are much too bulky to be carried around in your pocket, perhaps Diaz’s idea of replacing your iPhone with the new Apple Watch 4 might be up your alley.
Its predecessor, the Watch Series 3 was loaded with bad reviews and connectivity problems, but Apple seems to have solved these with its Watch Series 4.
The updated gadget comes packed with various features such as a music player, a call function, messages, news, and even offers directions. Though it does not have a camera, the Watch works similar to the iPhone, or perhaps better when it comes to wellness.
The Watch boasts health features that could be beneficial to some users. The Watch is capable of making a single-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) reading thanks to the electrodes incorporated inside, which will be helpful to those having heart problems.
It also houses a heart rate monitor that will alert you about irregularities and a fall detector that offers emergency services should you encounter a serious injury. The small Watch face might also improve “digital well-being,” as users find it harder to remain immersed for long periods of time on a smaller screen.
Though the new Watch can get overloaded with a dense amount of information, one can customize it to suit his or her needs. With all of these new features—ability to make calls, health functionalities, and upgraded user experience—could the Watch potentially be “a better iPhone”?
