Apple Watch 4’s Fall Detection Gets Put To The Test By A Hollywood Stunt Double
By Yoon Sann Wong, 05 Oct 2018

This year’s iPhone unveilings might have been lackluster for some; others say that Apple’s Watch Series 4 stole the show with its outstanding new features.
In addition to the latter’s offerings such as call functions, messaging and news tools that might just make it “a better iPhone,” the Apple Watch Series 4 boasts an array of health features that the company touts as an ideal companion for those who seek an active lifestyle.
Among these is its fall detection feature that offers emergency services should you encounter a serious injury. Wall Street Journal’s personal tech columist Joanna Stern puts this function to the test in a short, humorous film with the help of Hollywood stunt double Evelyn Osorio Vaccaro.
Vaccaro, who has worked on shows including Orange Is the New Black, pits her nimble skills such as fake falling—which is harder than it looks—against the Apple Watch Series 4.
Enjoy the amusing experiment below and please, do not try these slips, flips, and trips at home.
