Google’s Bold Emphasis On ‘Your Security’ At Launch Event Tickles Twitter Users
By Yoon Sann Wong, 10 Oct 2018
Just a day after Google announced it was killing off its Google+ social network following a data breach involving over 500,000 users, the brand took to emphasizing on user security at its 9 October ‘Made By Google’ launch event, where it announced the new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones.
The scene, which unfolds at the 30:48-minute mark during its live stream below, has elicited amusement from Twitter users after being shared by spoof account @JonyIveParody.
Not only was the Google+ privacy data breach referenced, but also the abundant Pixel 3 leaks prior to its official unveiling that left Google with little left to surprise its fans.
For the sake of everyone who uses Google and its numerous products, pray it doesn’t reach the worrisome state that is social network Facebook, which has already spurred many users to delete their accounts following multiple data breaches—including the recent September incident involving 50 million users.
