After one decade, fashion designer Alexander Wang is reuniting with Uniqlo for a collection of intimates that will combine his sleek aesthetic with Uniqlo’s ‘Heattech’ fabric.
The collection will feature basic essentials such as bodysuits, leggings, bras and briefs in neutral shades and neon green, with prices ranging between US$15 and US$40.
The American fashion designer worked with Uniqlo back in 2008 for an easy, ready-to-wear collection. This year marks the 10th year anniversary of their collaboration, and this time, Wang thought partnering with the fashion retailer for an inner-wear collection would be an interesting opportunity.
Wang has always been inspired by Uniqlo’s ‘Heattech’ technology, which revolves around innovation, function and utility. Wang yearned to incorporate these elements into the collection, while balancing the inner-wear with their own distinct styles and aesthetic.
Despite being an underwear collection, Wang explains that the designs, which include turtlenecks and tanks, are versatile enough to be worn during various occasions and styled together with different garments.
The Alexander Wang x Uniqlo collection will drop later this month during a special event in New York City.
