US President Donald Trump’s newest White House painting looks just like something you would find in a souvenir shop.
Painted by political artist Andy Thomas, the fantasy artwork titled The Republican Club features a slimmer Trump merrymaking with past Republican presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, and the two George Bushes.
Americans had a glimpse of the painting in a photo that news magazine 60 Minutes had shared in a tweet.

It wasn’t long before the artwork incited comparisons with Cassius Marcellus Coolidge’s oil painting series, Dogs Playing Poker.
“This looks like the painting of the dogs playing poker everyone had in their basement,” tweeted user Sack Lodge.
“Lincoln is quietly changing his party affiliation in his grave,” said ‘MollyJongFast’.
While the print has been described as “tacky” by internet users, its artist couldn’t be prouder of its affiliation with Trump.
Thomas recounted to The Daily Beast that it was Republican US Representative Darrell Issa who gifted the portrait to the US president.
POTUS apparently rang the artist up later and was “very complimentary” of the piece. Trump also supposedly said that “he’d seen a lot of paintings of himself” but “rarely liked them,” Thomas added.
The painter detailed the challenge he faced while creating Trump’s likeness due to the president’s unique skin tone and smile.
He also believes that no other president has owned any of his oil paintings.
The Republican Club is the latest piece to Thomas’ renowned president-themed series, which includes paintings like Democratic Presidents Playing Poker and Republican Presidents Playing Pool, so social media users aren’t wrong to surmise that the White House’s new portrait has nothing to do with Coolidge’s classics.

Not very realistic. The Dogs Playing Poker painting is more believable.— Lyndoom! (@gantwick) October 15, 2018
How did the painting get to the White House?— Washington Post (@washingtonpost) October 15, 2018
Why does Trump look nearly as svelte as Dwight Eisenhower?
Is he drinking a Diet Coke!?

True it may be accurate but only if we don't take into consideration Trumps diet. You know what they say, you are what you eat. pic.twitter.com/78oQdRQlJh— ZombieMaster GhostDude 🎃✴ (@TheYoDude) October 15, 2018

The weird painting Trump hung up of himself has a version with Democratic presidents. Both paintings have the same woman in the background except in the Democratic version she’s smiling and in the Republican version she has no mouth. pic.twitter.com/LgcpiYb1bM— Jason (but with the hockey mask) (@page2frame) October 15, 2018
