Photographer Tests Ultra-Cheap US$0.25 Image Editing Service To Ghastly Result

When photographer Irene Rudnyk discovered a retouching service offered on Fiverr at ultra-cheap prices, she decided to conduct an experiment to see how her edited images would look given the extremely wallet-friendly prices.
Rudnyk decided to hire three different retouchers for US$0.25, US$5, and US$10.
She submitted a RAW image featuring a lady, dressed in a red blouse and black overalls standing under a tree, to each retoucher. Her instructions included making the image appear more vibrant and warm. She wanted the subject to have clean skin, bright eyes, and more intense red hair that would match the background.
As hinted through the main image above, the results that ensued were nothing short of interesting. The cheapest retouching job at US$0.25 gave rise to a botched photo, where the subject’s features appear much bigger and her bright red hair matched her fresh, vibrant red lipstick.
The US$5 retouching job had colored her eyes into a bold blue. Thankfully, the US$10 edit turned out better than all the rest.
Commenting on the results, Rudynk said she wouldn’t recommend the service to any photographer and added that US$10 for an image was not worth the dismal result.
