Why pay for your own advertising when your neighbor can indirectly do it for you?
Greggs, the largest bakery chain in the UK, has reversed the logo at its storefront on Northumberland Street, situated opposite Fenwick’s popular Christmas window display.
The overturned lettering has not only piqued the curiosity of passers-by, but also takes centerstage when reflected in its neighbor Fenwick’s Christmas setup.
Each year, the latter’s festive window exhibit gathers crowds. This Christmas, Fenwick has decided to go along with a theme inspired by children’s book The Snowman.
The clever marketing stunt not only ensures that every photo captured with Fenwick’s Snowman-themed characters bears Gregg’s reflected logo, but also captures the attention of selfie-taking lovers, who seem more than keen to snap a photo with its befuddling backward logo.
Early last month, easyJet launched a clever and playful ad in France that reveals its message solely through its surrounding water’s reflection.
