Despite being renowned for its staple pieces, Japanese fashion retailer Uniqlo is anything but basic. The company frequently rolls out limited edition capsules that grace the works of established artists and brands. This year, for instance, it unveiled collaborations with Alexander Wang, designer KAWS and Sesame Street, as well as Disney.
Brace yourself for more—come Spring and Summer 2019, Uniqlo is expected to augment five t-shirt collections with new eye-popping illustrations, as revealed by Japanese trade website Fashion Press.
Included in the lineup are ‘Mickey Mouse’-themed t-shirts featuring Walt Disney’s debut animation Steamboat Willie and a monochromatic ‘Mickey’, Marvel-themed works illustrated by American artist Jason Polan, ‘Snoopy’ designs celebrating the Olympics, collaborations with Japanese candy brands, and extensions to Uniqlo’s popular ‘SPRZ NY’ line.
