Twitter Invades NYC With Cheeky, Blown-Up Tweets That Will Make You Go ‘Wow’
By Yoon Sann Wong, 29 Nov 2018
Twitter has taken over one of the most famous commercial intersections in the world, laying testament to its deep pockets and advertising muscle.
Sitting at New York City’s Times Square are enormous, blown-up tweets from its official @Twitter account to promote the brand’s “lighter, more conversational nature,” according to its press release.
Big Apple dwellers will find, for instance, messages such as, “Who’s up?” that pays homage to this city that never sleeps, a cheeky “Is this thing on?” and a retweet of author Stephen King’s 18 April note that reads, “Graffiti is the Twitter of the streets.”
