Rami Malek might channel a very convincing Freddie Mercury, but elsewhere in the world, another doppelgänger of Queen’s late lead singer has been identified.
This Freddie Mercury lookalike was spotted working as a waiter at a restaurant in Malaysia and apparently tends to a tandoori barbeque located outside Chennai Spice Cyberjaya.
Twitter user Nazrudin Rahman shared the image of the Indian man, originally captured by Wen Harn Loo, with the witty Queen pun, “Briyani Wrapsody.”
Rahman’s post has since garnered more than 12,000 likes on Twitter. It has sparked a thread of witty puns inspired by the British rock band’s legendary song Bohemian Rhapsody, but with a twist referencing popular Indian food dishes such as Biryani—also known as Briyani—and Naan.
The viral thread subsequently spurred Malaysian composer Jaster Fong to create a parody of the 1975 hit song.
Have a good chuckle at the creative responses below.
