Losing your ‘AirPods’ might soon be an even more painful reality. A new memo by renowned tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has been accurately predicting Apple products in the past years, suggests that the company will be releasing two versions of the wireless headphones in the next couple of years.
Kuo believes that Apple will roll out a “model with wireless charging support” in the first quarter of 2019. Its case will apparently be more expensive to produce due to the addition of an internal “rigid-flex board,” along with a redesigned hinge to accommodate appearance changes and higher temperatures.
The latter component alone beckons a cost of more than 60-percent than its predecessor, so be prepared to spend more for this variation.
While Kuo described an “all-new design” for ‘AirPods’ in early 2020, he did not zero in on specifications, though earlier reports have suggested that the accessories will support ‘Siri’ and be fortified with water-resistance.
The analyst also deduced that less than five-percent of iPhone owners currently own ‘AirPods’, so the introduction of revamped headphones could spur “great potential growth opportunities.”
