Ryan Reynolds Hilariously Shows How His Aviation Gin Is Made, ‘Deadpool’-Style
By Yoon Sann Wong, 17 Dec 2018
After annoying Sir Richard Branson in Aviation Gin’s previous ad, Ryan Reynolds returns to reveal ‘The Process’ behind the creation of his gin that is just “so delicious.”
Reynolds acquired an unrevealed stake in the Oregon-based Aviation Gin in February this year, and has been actively involved in its day-to-day operations.
For this follow-up, the actor channels elements of his iconic ‘Deadpool’ character in a sarcastic, rib-tickling commercial that severely romanticizes the production process with glossy shots and absurd narration.
For instance, Reynolds credits “the reason some people don’t drink gin is that strong juniper taste. So, after apologizing to each berry individually, we beat the living hell out of them.”
Additionally, “to ensure that heavenly taste, every bottle of Aviation Gin is ordained by the Unitarian Church of Fresno, California” before being “serenaded by the healing music of Sarah McLachlan.”
Of course, the ending can’t get better than the hilarious closing line, “Aviation. An American original. Now owned by a Canadian.”
The ad, which has been uploaded to YouTube, sparked amused responses and even calls for “[s]omeone [to] set up a petition to have Ryan Reynolds narrate the next Planet Earth.”
