Internet Is At A Loss Over How To Pirate Netflix’s ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’
By Yoon Sann Wong, 07 Jan 2019
Netflix’s Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, which has taken interactive storytelling to a new level with a “choose-your-own-adventure”-style viewer experience, has left the internet at a loss over how to accurately pirate the edition that has five possible endings.
Thus far, it seems that Bandersnatch has proven difficult to steal, with notorious torrent site The Pirate Bay trying to work around its complex and numerous non-linear scenes.
So far, its two approaches have been to either simply ignore the various storylines or upload all of its contents as one entire nonstop movie, thereby placing its runtime at 5 hours and 12 minutes.
Mashable reports that for the first approach, one file description on The Pirate Bay explains, out of “the 250 available decision events, this is the default 68 choices Netflix have defined as the default ‘linear’ timeline.” This ultimately plays out the film as a whole movie with a runtime of 1 hour, 33 minutes and 12 seconds.
These pirating “solutions,” however, defeat the purpose of Bandersnatch, whose complexities appear to have convoluted precise illegal uploads for now.
