‘Theresa May’ As ‘Gollum’ Singing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Is Creepy Yet Amusing
By Izza Sofia, 17 Jan 2019
Andy Serkis, who played ‘Gollum’ in Lord of the Rings trilogy, has brought back the hybrid of British Prime Minister Theresa May and the LotR character in this bewildering video after the latest Brexit news.
After the rejection of May’s Brexit deal in the House of Commons, Serkis shared this video where he morphs into May before breaking out in a Brexit version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. “Was that the right deal or was that just fantasy? Are we stuck in the Union, no article fifty,” sings Serkis. “Open your eyes, did you notice the lies or see? I’m just Theresa, I need your sympathy…”
Serkis also sings about former PM David Cameron and UK MP Jacob Rees-Mogg in the video. The video ends with ‘May-Gollum’ singing, “No one really matters to me.”
