Move over “hamberders,” a Michelin restaurant is about to teach Trump what an actual celebratory dinner should look like.
America’s champions of college football, the Clemson University Tigers, has been invited by the owner of Alinea, a world-famous fine dining restaurant in Chicago, for a meal that would very likely be worth the visit.
The invitation comes after the team was served a fast food feast at their celebratory dinner in the White House. The scene, which has been likened to one from the 1994 film Richie Rich, comprised burgers, fries and pizza from McDonald’s, Burger King and Domino’s.
Alinea’s co-founder Nick Kokonas said in a tweet, “I could care less about college football. But I’m personally inviting the Clemson Tigers team and coaches to Chicago to experience what an actual celebration dinner should be. I’m not joking. Someone let them know what The Alinea Group does. It’ll be worth it.”
According to Eater Chicago, Alinea is the only eatery that has managed to earn three Michelin stars in the Illinois city. Kokanas told The Chicago Tribune that even though he finds “nothing wrong with fast food,” he and his team know how to throw a celebration that is “appropriate [for the] occasion.”
He explained that this isn’t about politics, but more of correcting something that he believes is just wrong.
