Google’s Ad Takes A Jab At Apple With ‘Phone X’ VS Pixel 3 ‘Night Sight’
By Izza Sofia, 28 Jan 2019
You have probably been there—when trying to take a photo of friends or family at night, but the quality of the image comes out horribly poor.
Google has released its ‘Night Sight’ function for its Pixel 3 phones to help users capture quality images regardless of lighting conditions. To demonstrate the superiority of its ‘Night Sight’ function, Google has issued an ad that clearly mocks Apple by comparing it to a ‘Phone X’.
The ad shows the same image taken with the two different camera phones. The photo taken with the ‘Phone X’ is underexposed, while the one taken using the Pixel 3 shows the subject and background as clear as day.
The images come with fine print at the bottom, indicating that on the left, the “image [was] shot on iPhone XS,” while the clear photo on the right is credited to Google.
Marvin Chow, Google’s vice president of product marketing, tweeted, “‘Night Sight’ on Google Pixel 3—pretty much speaks for itself.”
